Excellence
Students at Huddersfield can learn from the best to help them be the best:
- The University of Huddersfield was awarded an outstanding Gold rating in all three aspects of the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023. - The apprenticeship provision at the University of Huddersfield has been graded as OUTSTANDING. Furthermore, we have the highest Apprenticeship Qualification Achievement Rate (QAR) among Higher Education Providers in England.
- Our global stature is growing, as we were ranked top in the UK in the global Times Higher Education Young University Rankings 2024, a ranking that lists the world’s best universities 50 years old and younger.
- Our teaching staff rank first in England for the proportion with higher degrees and teaching qualifications, as well as being top five for those holding doctorates (HESA 2025).
- Our extensive Distance Learning provision enables students from anywhere in the world to benefit from the same high standards of teaching as our on-campus students, as all our distance learning courses are delivered by academics from the University of Huddersfield.
- We are second in the country for National Teaching Fellowships, which mark the UK’s best lecturers in Higher Education, winning a total of 24 since 2008 (2025 data).
